Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The presentation of the book titled “Heydar Aliyev and Mahammad Fuzuli” was held within the 10th Baku International Book Fair.  The book includes the orders and decrees of National Leader Heydar Aliyev regarding the promotion of Mahammad Fuzuli's artistic heritage and the immortalization of his name, as well as speeches by Heydar Aliyev during Fuzuli's anniversaries. 

In her speech, president of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova noted that the 530th anniversary of Mahammad Fuzuli is marked with great ceremony in Azerbaijan and throughout the Turkic world, including various countries. She stated that the book includes articles by scholars about historical works of Heydar Aliyev on promotion of Mahammad Fuzuli's heritage. The articles in the book are accompanied by works of prominent artists.

A. Raimkulova aslo added that this year, Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation has fulfilled its mission of promoting the literary heritage of the Turkic World by compiling various book series, such as “Pearls of Turkic Literature” and “Scientific Pearls of the Turkic World”.

Speaking at the event, president of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli stated that the National Leader Heydar Aliyev always viewed the formation of national thought and the preservation of spiritual values as a priority in state policy. He said that during Heydar Aliyev's leadership, attitudes toward science, cultural heritage, literature, and notable figures improved, and support for scholars, writers, and poets increased.

The Academician said that after the 1970s and 1980s, attitudes toward classical literature changed significantly, and Heydar Aliyev played an important role in this change. 

Academician Isa Habibbeyli underlined that this is the first time the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation has published a book related to Mahammad Fuzuli and presented it to the academic community.

People's Writer Anar, director of the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS named after Mahammad Fuzuli, Academician Teymur Karimli, Academician Nizami Jafarov, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev, Milli Majlis member, doctor of philology Elnara Akimova and others, shared their impressions about the book. They emphasized that the immortal heritage of Mahammad Fuzuli remains relevant and the books about him are loved and read by people.

After that the event was continued with a cultural program.
