A book by Kazakh writer Kemel Tokayev was presented to the Azerbaijani readers

A presentation of a book “Special Assignment” by the prominent Kazakh writer and public figure Kemel Tokayev was held within the 10th Baku International Book Fair. The book, translated into Azerbaijani, is published by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.

In her speech, president of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova said that the book “Special Assignment” is written against war and calls for peace and is a part of the “Pearls of Turkic Literature” series. She underlined that alongside his writing career, Kemel Tokayev was also engaged in journalism, highlighting important cultural and social issues of Kazakhstan through his journalistic works.

Malik Otarbayev, Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan stated that Kemel Tokayev is the author who laid the foundation for the detective genre in Kazakh literature. “He wrote each of his works based on information from archives. By documenting the events, he has left an indelible mark in the history”- added the advisor.

The president of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli emphasized the significance of Kemel Tokayev's book being published in Azerbaijani. He said that Kemel Tokayev, who has made significant contributions to the development of Turkic culture and the art of word, is one of the founders of the detective genre in Kazakh literature. 

Academician Isa Habibbeyli said that the translation of this book into Azerbaijani, as well as its presentation at the international book fair, contributes to the development of integration-based partnership relations among Turkic states. According to the Academician Isa Habibbeyli the book “Special Assignment” will provide local readers with the opportunity to become acquainted with the works of Kemal Tokayev, a prominent figure in Kazakh literature.

People's Writer Anar and People's Writer Chingiz Abdullayev highly assessed the publication of the book in Azerbaijani.

Director of the Azerbaijan Atatürk Center, Academician Nizami Jafarov also shared his thoughts on the book.  

Fazil Mustafa, chairman of the Public Associations and Religious Organizations Committee of the Milli Majlis spoke about Kemal Tokayev's work and emphasized the importance of making such remarkable days a tradition. 

The project leader and author of the preface is president of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova, the translator is Rabiga Nazimqizi and the editor is Akbar Goshali.
