Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Results of researches of the Azerbaijani scientists conducted together with colleagues from France, Spain, Austria, Sweden and Germany, were published in the article “Complexity of Genomes of nano viruses from Europe and the Proof in Them of a Recombination and a Reassortment” of “Journal of Virology” magazine. As a result of the researches devoted to studying of nano viruses, infecting wild and cultural bean plants, were identified two nano viruses new to science - black medic leaf (BMLRV) and pea yellow stunt virus roll (PYSV).

Genomes of the virus PYSV found in Austria, and three viruses BMLRV from Austria, Azerbaijan and Sweden, were consistently divided. In addition, found in Azerbaijan and Spain 5 genomes of isolates of the virus faba bean necrotic yellows (FBNYV) and 4 genomes of isolates of the virus faba bean necrotic stunt of virus (FBNSV) from Azerbaijan also were completely divided. As a result the virus FBNSV was for the first time identified in Europe.
