Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On March 6, at the next meeting of the Presidium of ANAS, chairman of Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS Academician Ismayil Hajiyev reported on the status and development directions of researches.

Drawing attention to the obtained achievements during a reporting year, I.Hajiyev stated that, 31 research works covering 6 problems in 7 topics over 81 phases have been carried out. Works in 76 phases have already completed, associates of the Branch gained 3 applicable patents and implemented 5 grant projects.

Ismayil Hajiyev also noted about pedagogical activities of Branch associates at the Nakhchivan State University, Nakhchivan University and Nakhchivan Teachers’ Institute. In addition, agreements of cooperation were signed via educational and scientific ventures of the USA, France, Germany, England, Sweden, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan etc.

In 2016, Seismological Survey Center and Information Communication Technology Cabinet have been commissioned at the Branch, moreover e-version of 123 books at the library of the Branch were prepared and posted on the www.ameanb.nakhchivan.az web-site and local network of the library, added.

Chairman also touched upon publishing works and staff training issues: “During a reporting year, 23 monograph (3 abroad), 14 books (one abroad), 4 methodic aids, 560 article and conference material (137 abroad), and 15 theses (7 abroad) were published. Scientists’ 29 articles have been released on the journals of impact factor, and they delivered lectures at the 26 international symposia and conference.

After listening, the report has been considered satisfactory by the Presidium.
