Between Institute of Botany of ANAS and UN Interregional research institute concerning crime and justice the Memorandum of understanding is signed/ Within the “Strengthening of Opportunities of Bioprotection and Biosafety on South Caucasus and in Central Asia” project the “Molecular Diagnostics of Agricultural Plants, Diseases of Various Seeds and Genetically Modified Products Imported to Azerbaijan” project was declared by the winner. The project manager is the chief of department “Fundamental problems of biological efficiency” the academician Jalal Aliyev. The purpose of the project is diagnostics of phytoplasma and viral diseases of various crops imported to Azerbaijan, and also molecular diagnostics of genetically modified vegetable products. The conducted researches will serve prevention of distribution of diseases and providing the population with healthy food from the point of view of food security. Within the project holding the practical seminars with participation of leading scientists of Germany and France working in the research centers for studying of diseases of plants, and also scientific business trip of two employees of Institute of botany in İNRA - Institute of agricultural researches (Bordeaux, France) and ISTA - the International association of testing of seeds (Switzerland) on purpose studying of new methods of molecular diagnostics and identification of diseases of plants and genetically modified products is provided.
