Members of Science and Education Committee of Milli Majlis met with international specialists of European Union.

The meeting, which took place in the electron conference hall of the Institute of Literature after Nizami, was attended by members of working group for draft law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on vocational training, officials of the relevant governmental bodies, specialists for international ties and education experts.

Opening the meeting, chairman of Science and Education Committee Acad. Isa Habibbeyli spoke of works done and tasks set forth. Speaking about latest development of science and education in Azerbaijan and priority directions set forth by state management, the scientist brought to mind government’s special attention to the vocational training. He noted that, draft law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on vocational training is under prep and to this end tasks of the working group are of importance. Modern world and European experience has been used in preparation of draft law, including existed models of Eastern countries have been reviewed.

Then, Director of the State Agency for Vocational Training under Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Famil Mustafayev made speech on the government’s support to the vocational training in the country and tasks before.

Expert of EU, a group manager of project “European Union’s support to the vocational education and training in Azerbaijan” Herman Sonneveld spoke about European model of vocational training and modern world standards.

Later on, chief expert for legal framework of the European Union Roger Hessel has submitted Support project for vocational training and education in Azerbaijan, funded by European Union. Reminding hemistiches by great Nizami: “Mahir bir palanchi olsa da insan, yakhshidir yarimchig papagchiligdan”, European guest drew attention that, a perfect vocational education is one of the propriety directions in every country.

Firdovsi Mutallimov, who has deeply possessed European vocational education, and a long-term expert on Legal issues, as well as an interpreter, project assistant Ilkin Jalilov in detail responded attendees’ questions.

During discussions deputies of Milli Majlis – Deputy Chairman of Science and Education Committee corresponding member of ANAS Bakhtiyar Aliyev, Asim Mollazadeh, Ulviyye Aghayeva and others stated their opinions and conclusions.

At the meeting, it was especially stressed out to reflect issues arising from strategic Road map for vocational education in the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Draft law.

In closing, Acad. Isa Habibeyli paid attention holding of analysis by Working group, involving field specialists of the relevant governmental bodies recently, including enhancing of existed ties by ensuring close participation of entrepreneurship subjects operated in the country, and carrying out joint discussions for vocational education. Highly appreciating the meeting and dialogue with European guests the committee chairman expressed his confidence in successful continuation of such discussions in further stages.
