Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Deputy Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Academic Shahin Mustafayev attended the first meeting of experts of the UNESCO’s project “Development of interactive atlas of mutual cultural ties on the Silk Way” on May 31- June 1 in Beijing, China.

At the event, draft project of Silk Way interactive atlas was widely discussed. Experts, coming from different countries – England, France, Italy, Russia, China, Korea, Mongolia, Iran, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, have exchanged views of implementation of draft project, and shared opinions on objective, geographic and chronological boundaries of the project. At the end of the meeting was adopted a declaration.

Note that, Academic Sh. Mustafayev is the Vice-President of International Bureau of UNESCO’s coordinators network “Online platform of Silk Way” and coordinator of this program for Azerbaijan.
