Comprehensive measures are being taken at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS to expand and strengthen the infrastructure of the AzScienceNet CN. A purposeful work is being done to create a new fiber-optic cable network to equip organizations and institutes of ANAS with modern intelligent switches and necessary technical equipment, accelerate data exchange and ensure their increased reliability.

Recently, specialists of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS provided the connection of the Institute of Biophysics to the AzScienceNet network through fiber-optic communication. The structure also carried out work on the creation of Wi-Fi and Eduroam network, and the staff of the Institute presented the opportunity through AzScienceNet to use the services of the GEANT network (a computer network of Europe for science and education).

Note that the service Eduroam (education roaming), represented by the GEANT network, is an international roaming service that provides free and secure access to the Internet for scientists, researchers, students and teachers. Users of this network have the ability to securely and wirelessly connect to the Internet, being on the territory of thousands of scientific and educational institutions at home and abroad.
