Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Scientists of the World History Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) - Van Hiaoju, Hou Aijun and Cu Cianli visited the Institute of Science History (ISH) of ANAS.

During the three-day visit, Chinese scientists met with the Director of the ISH, Dr.Sc. in history Maryam Seyidbeyli and acquainted with the scientific-research work carried out in the departments of the enterprise.

Later, a roundtable on the theme "Azerbaijan-China relations on the Great Silk Road: history and modernity" was organized by the ISH. Opening the event, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Social Sciences of ANAS Academician Nargiz Akhundova touched upon the unity of history and modernity in bilateral relations and noted the necessity of expanding scientific relations.

Sabina Nematzade, deputy director on scientific affairs of the Institute of History, Sabina Nematzade made a report on  "Chinese motives in Turkish-Islamic art", Head of the Department of Cognitive Theory of Philosophy Institute, Ph.D. Fuzuli Gurbanov on "Geopolitical Aspects of Azerbaijani-Chinese Cooperation in the New Silk Road Project".

After the event, Vice President of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli received the Chinese delegation. The sides exchanged views on the Azerbaijani-Chinese scientific relations and other issues.

Later Chinese scientists met with the scientific-pedagogical staff of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Central Scientific Library, National History Museum of Azerbaijan.

Chinese scholars' visit to Azerbaijan ended on October 5.
