Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The chairman of the ANAS Nakhchivan Department, Academician Ismail Hajiyev participated in the international congress on "Tourism and cultural heritage", held at the University of Mugla Sitki Kochman, Turkey.

At the event, in which scientists and researchers from several countries took part, reports were listened on the art, language and literature, architecture, customs and traditions of the Turkic peoples.

Academician I.Hajiyev, presiding at one of the sessions of the congress aimed at recognizing and bringing to the future generations the rich culture of the Turkish world, delivered his report on the "Monuments of Culture and Tourism of Nakhchivan: the Mausoleum of Garabaglar". The scientist brought to attention that after gaining independence in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, along with all spheres, an important work was done to study the history of this region.

Noting that, the mausoleums have a special place among the monuments that have survived to this day, Ismail Hajiyev brought to the attention that one of the valuable monuments of the ancient architectural school of Nakhchivan is the Mausoleum Complex of Garabaglar of the Kengerli District.

The report of the Azerbaijani scientist aroused great interest of the congress participants.
