In the lakes of the Mingachevir Scientific Research Laboratory of the ANAS Institute of Zoology, commercial and decorative fish are grown, as well as a medical leech (Hirudo medicinalis).

Currently, the Institute is carrying out research works on "Morphological, ecological, parasitological research of carp, white cupids and silver carp grown in the lakes of the Mingachevir Scientific Research Laboratory and the development of scientific bases for the prevention and treatment of their diseases" and "Development of the technology of artificial reproduction of medical leeches" .

For this purpose, all the lakes in the laboratory began reclamation work. After passing through the saline solution and manganese, the fish were distributed along the lakes.

Director of the Institute, Ph.D. in Physics Elman Yusifov visited Mingachevir Scientific Research Laboratory to get acquainted with the progress of the projects and gave corresponding instructions.
