Presentation "Zangezur" documentary held

Center for Information and Communication Technologies "Virtual Garabagh" held presentation "Zangezur" documentary, in 3 languages - Azerbaijan, Russian and English on December 26.

The film was prepared with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the framework of cooperation with the Institute of History  of ANAS.

At the event, in which government officials, deputies, representatives of the public and heads of youth organizations took part, 3D film "Gubadly", electronic album "Carpets of Karabakh" and a new functional portal of the structure were also presented.

Speaking at the ceremony, the coordinator of the center, the chairman of the Public Council for Youth Work under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Nureddin Mehdiyev noted that, the main purpose of the documentary film is to inform the world community, as well as for future generations, the fact that the Zangezur mahal is an historical land of Azerbaijan.

He said that, the film describes the Azerbaijanis belonging to the toponyms in Zangezur, their substitution, the events that took place in Zangezur in the ancient and middle ages, the resettlement of Armenians in these territories, the massacre committed by Armenians, the cultural heritage and outstanding personalities of the makhal: "Today the territory of Zangezur covers the territories of Lachin, Gubadli and Zangilan regions occupied by Armenia, as well as the districts of Karakilse, Kafan, Gyorus and Meghri. In these territories, at every step you can see the names of the localities that are found in the ancient "Oguznam" and "Kitabi Dede Gorgud".

Nadir Mehdiyev said that, the preparation of a comprehensive documentary film about Zangezur in foreign languages facilitates its distribution around the world.

Then, the Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov in his speech announced about the joint cooperation, starting in 2013 with the Center for Information and Communication Technologies "Virtual Garabagh" in the direction of bringing the truth about Azerbaijan to the world community. A.Rahimov expressed confidence in the restoration of the territorial integrity of our country. He noted that, the successful domestic and foreign policy pursued by the President of Azerbaijan gives us grounds to draw such a conclusion.

At the event, the main consultant of the film "Zangezur", Director of the Institute of History, academician Yagub Mahmudov in his speech noted the importance of the screen work in terms of ideological warfare. Y.Mahmudov stated that, Armenians, who are not aboriginal peoples of the South Caucasus were moved to this region by Peter I in the period of Tsarist Russia.

Recalling the genocides committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis throughout history, the academician noted that our people should know the Armenian vandals Shaumyan, Andranik Ozanyan, Nijde and others. Having said that, today the Republic of Armenia was established on the historical lands of Azerbaijan, the academician touched upon the importance of bringing these realities to the world community.

The ceremony also featured a 3D film "Gubadly". The film, presented in Azerbaijani and English, reflects graphic images of historical monuments, streets, fortresses, Muslim and Christian monuments of Gubadly.

In addition, the electronic album "Carpets of Garabagh" is also presented. Short information and photos of famous Garabagh carpets were reflected in the album. The scientific consultant of the project is the director of the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, academician Nailya Velikhanly, the compiler is a museum employee, the doctor of philosophy on history Gulzadeh Abdulova.
