Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

A presentation ceremony of the book by Turkish scientist-journalist Aysel Sadak Iltash titled “Haydar Aliyev. İnsan yüreği ile Haydar Baba”, dedicated to Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Presidium of ANAS on December 6. 

The event was attended by members of parliament from Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Kazakhstan, prominent scientists, representatives of various institutions and society, members of the media from Türkiye and Azerbaijan, as well as other guests.

At first the attendees viewed an exhibition in the foyer featuring books published by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, showcasing the rich life and works of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The ceremony was opened by the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, who emphasized that the historical image of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the savior of Azerbaijani people, a genius and a great person, who is a unique among the prominent world politicians of the 20th century, has left an eternal mark on the memory and heart of our people. He noted that the strong foundations of our state independence were laid by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and under the leadership of his worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has reached the highest stage of its development.

Speaking about the indispensable role of Heydar Aliyev in the development of Türkiye-Azerbaijan friendship and fraternal relations, the head of ANAS underlined that the Great Leader further strengthened the ties between the two countries by creating new bridges on the threshold of the 21st century and laid the foundations for a new era. He mentioned that the wise saying of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev-“We are one nation, two states”-which symbolizes the eternal and permanent brotherhood between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, remains a model for the citizens of both states to this day. Recent events have once again confirmed that the unbreakable bonds between the two brotherly countries are stronger and more steadfast.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli said that now the Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations are successfully continued in all areas by President Ilham Aliyev, and this friendship serves as an example to the entire world. He noted that the Shusha Declaration, signed on June 15, 2021, in Shusha city regarding allied relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, is the eternal confirmation of the friendship and brotherhood ties between the two countries in the 21st century.

The academician said that, as in other institutions of our country, a series of events dedicated to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev are held every year at ANAS as well, various books are published on the multifaceted activities of the great personality, numerous articles are written, and the memory of the Great Leader is commemorated with great respect. 

Academician Isa Habibbeyli highlighted that within the framework of the “Heydar Aliyev Year”, 52 books and monographs, as well as 16 conference materials, have been published by ANAS. He also noted that the study of Heydar Aliyev’s heritage in Azerbaijan has entered a new phase.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli highlighted the great historical significance of the presented book titled “Haydar Aliyev. İnsan yüreği ile Haydar Baba” and mentioned that the publication broadly reflects the great heritage of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, his remarkable contributions to our statehood history, his high human qualities, and his rich spiritual world. The book features the thoughts and memories of prominent scientists and socio-political figures about the Great Leader. The book, dedicated to Heydar Aliyev, is an expression of great respect for the personality of the Great Leader. 

Then, Shamil Ayrım, a member of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye and the head of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group, delivered a speech, recalling his first meeting with the Great Leader in 1995 and underlining that Heydar Aliyev was the great son of not only Azerbaijan but of the entire Turkic world.

Shamil Ayrım said that while writing the book scientist-journalist Aysel Sadak Iltash visited Azerbaijan many times and met with 51 interviewees. He mentioned that the publication, presented to the public, is a valuable contribution to introducing the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to future generations in a more detailed manner.

The Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Western Azerbaijan Community, Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov in his speech, highlighted the significance of the book, which compiles the memories of people who had close contact with and knew the National Leader Heydar Aliyev personally.

People’s Poet Sabir Rustamkhanli, Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali, Director-General of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Ministry of Science and Education and corresponding member of ANAS Misir Mardanov, People’s Writer Elmira Akhundova, and member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Cantürk Alagöz delivered speeches, discussing the significance of the book and wishing the author success in her future creative works.

The speeches emphasized that Heydar Aliyev’s political legacy has always been a rich source. It was also highlighted that the book devotes significant space to the author’s interview with the Great Leader, at the beginning.

Finally, the author of the publication, Turkish scientist-journalist Aysel Sadak Iltash shared her memories of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and expressed her gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event.

In the end, Academician Isa Habibbeyli emphasized that the Great Leader is the founder of independence of modern Azerbaijan and with his extensive state governance experience, he took significant steps to ensure that our country takes its rightful place among the world’s states. He said that under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, state sovereignty of Azerbaijan has been ensured, with the National Flag now flying across the entire country.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli highly praised the creation of such a book, noting that it is the result of a long and dedicated work and the book portrays the unique spiritual image of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Throughout the event, slides reflecting the rich life and activities of National Leader Heydar Aliyev were displayed.
