On April 19, academician Akif Alizadeh, President of ANAS, received a delegation led by Professor Peng Long, the rector of Beijing Foreign Languages ​​University (PFLU), who is on a visit to our country.

The delegation included KE Jing, Head of PFLU Department of International Exchange and Cooperation, Xue Qingguo, Director of the Arab and Islamic Center, and Ma Jonggu, Dean of the Asia-Africa Faculty.

Speaking at the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh underlined about the historical ties between Azerbaijan and China and said that cooperation between the two countries in the field of science, education and culture for many years is developing.

Recalling the visit of Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to Baku last year, the scientist talked about a cooperation agreement signed between the Academy of Sciences of China and the Chinese Social Sciences Academy to strengthen scientific ties and organize joint activities. He noted that the contract had a positive impact on the scientific activity of both organizations, the achievements of China in the field of studying the relevant fields, and the participation of scholars in humanitarian field in Azerbaijan participated in scientific events held in different cities of the country.

Academician A.Alizadeh informed about ANAS, which has more than 70 years history, noting that recently the research in the priority directions of science has gained more and important scientific achievements have been achieved.

ANAS is carrying out important researches in oil, petrochemical, geology, molecular biology, genetics. The Academy is also ready to cooperate with Chinese scientific institutions in the direction of natural sciences, along with the humanitarian field, A.Alizade informed.

According to the agreement signed between Academician China's Beijing University of Foreign Languages ​​and Institute of Literature of ANAS, it is planned to establish a chair on the study of Azerbaijani language and literature in PFLU.

Vice-President of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbeyli recalled last year's visit to PFLU. He noted that various meetings with scholars and specialists of this influential university were held and scientific discussions were held.

China's "One Pipeline, One Way" and Azerbaijan's "Iron Silk Road" projects is complementary projects and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway is a railroad connecting China and Europe.We hope that this is not just trade as well as a great science and friendship path, scientist pointed out.

He said that the Chinese Center had been operating at the Institute of Literature and several staff members learned Chinese and conducted research on this country.

I.Habibbayli expressed his confidence that the cooperation agreement between the two organizations would be beneficial for the development of science both in China and in Azerbaijan, and that our science and education will further develop. He also mentioned that 4 employees of the Institute of Literature intend to send PFLU to language courses and scientific experience.

During the meeting, Professor Peng Long, the Rector of the PFLU, made a presentation about his organization. He noted that 98 language education was carried out at the university and research on priority directions. More than 400 ambassadors, including China's ambassador to Azerbaijan, have completed the PFLU.

Then Memorandum of Understanding was signed between PFLU and ANAS Institute of Literature. The document was signed by Professor Peng Long and academician Isa Habibbeyli.

It should be noted that within the memorandum, continuous exchange of personnel and experience, research collaboration, organization of joint seminars and conferences, etc. such measures are envisaged.

Finally, the Dada-Qorqud epic, published in the Chinese language, was presented to academician Akif Alizadeh and was photographed.

Head of the Department of International Relations of the Presidium of ANAS, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzayeva, Head of Public Relations and Science Population Department Zulfugar Farzaliyev and head of the Azerbaijan-Asia Literary Relations Department of the Literature Institute, Doctor of Philology Baddirhan Ahmedov also attended the meeting.
