Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Director of ANAS Institute of Linguistics after Nasimi, academician Naghisoylu Mohsun was seconded to the University of Hacettepe, located in Ankara, Turkey.

The purpose of the visit was the implementation of the project "Formation of scientific terminology in the modern Azerbaijani literary language and ways of enriching the vocabulary of the language", which won the grant competition announced by the Foundation for the Development of Science under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2015.

During the visit, M.Naghisoylu met with the director of the Center for the Study of Dictionaries of the University of Hacettepe, Professor Shukru Halyuk Akalyn.

At the meeting, informing about the sources enriching the Azerbaijani language in the Middle Ages, M.Nagisoylu noted that during this period the national literary language was enriched, developed and passed on to the future generation, primarily thanks to poets and writers. He stressed the importance of promoting the legacy of such well-known Azerbaijani writers as Izzaddin Hasanoglu, Gazi Burhaneddin, Imadedin Nasimi and Muhammad Fizuli, who created their works in their native language.

Within the framework of the visit, academician M.Nagisoylu also met with the chairman of the Turkish Language Association Mustafa Kachalin.
