On October 10, the collective of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after academician Ziya Bunyadov visited the grave of the prominent orientalist, doctor of philological sciences, professor Aida Imanguliyeva on the 79th anniversary of the birth. Employees of the institute commemorated Aida khanum and laid a wreath on the grave.
Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva spoke about the life of the great scientist and said that Aida had made a great contribution to the world oriental studies and lived as an example for the Azerbaijani woman.
G.Bakhshaliyeva noted that the outstanding scientist enriched not only Azerbaijani Oriental studies but also the world Oriental studies. He said that the main research object of Professor A.Imanguliyeva's numerous researches was Arabic literature, and she was the first Azerbaijani scientist to systematically research East-West mutual literary ties and influence. While studying the mutual influence and relationships between the East and West cultures, the scientist based on the universal values of both literature and cited the factors causing cultural progress.
Speaking about the scientific and organizational activities of the prominent scientist, G.Bahshaliyeva noted that she was promoted to a position of director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, thanks to her hard work, talent, intelligence and talent.
Invaluable services of the scientist will never be forgotten and that her memory will always live in the hearts of our people, G.Bakhshaliyeva underlined.
Head of the Department of History and Economy of the Arab Countries of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Ph.D. in history Farda Asadov said that Aida Imanguliyeva opened a new page in the study of contemporary Arabic literature and laid the foundation of a science school.
