Academician Rasim Alguliyev: "In our country, youth is the basis of human resources in the field of ICT"

Academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technology, academician Rasim Alguliyev met with youth at the III Republican meeting of talented and creative youth at Fairmont Baku on 23 October.

Academician R.Alguliyev noted that such events held in accordance with youth policy of the country serve to carry out more effective implementation of youth policy, reveal the innovative potential of young people actively participating in the socio-economic, cultural and spiritual life of society, encourage the younger generation to effectively use modern information and communication technologies (ICTs).

He noted that young people have a great role in building a knowledge society in modern times and stressed the necessity of establishing an army of knowledge-based knowledge of academic youth.

“At present, young people are the main human resources in the field of information technologies in our country "- he noted. Academician emphasized that over the past 15 years the achievements in the field of ICT in Azerbaijan have increased and is among the leaders in the South Caucasus for the number of articles published in the field of computer science in Azerbaijan.

The scientist noted that, taking into account the importance of information security in our country, the increase of admission to universities by 7 times is a clear example of the attention paid to the training of IT specialists.

Afterwards, academician Rasim Alguliyev spoke about the application of ICT in our country, e-waste, "green" technologies, software engineering, multidisciplinary science fields created by the application of informatics in various fields and answered the questions of young people.
