Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The Fourth Meeting of the UNESCO Silk Roads Online Platform International Network was held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

Our country was represented by project coordinator of the UNESCO Silk Roads Online Platform in Azerbaijan, Deputy Director for Science of the Institute of Oriental Studies, academician Shahin Mustafayev.

Participants exchanged exchanged opinions on current state and prospects of the project and also on creation of the interactive atlas of the Silk way.

Academician informed the participants about the projects and events held in our country by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, ANAS, the Ministry of Culture and Turkic Heritage and Culture Foundation.

He also stressed that, the construction this year of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway will serve the development of a transport corridor between Asia and Europe and, thus, the revival of the Silk Road.
