Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

In 2019, 90th jubilee of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes named after Academician Yusif Mammadaliyev will be held.

Founded in 1929 as the first Azerbaijan Oil Research Institute on the basis of the Central Chemical Laboratory under the “Azneft” Union, this scientific institution has been working through the big and glorious way of development since 1959 began to activate as the Institute of Petrochemical Processes of ANAS.

During the 90-year activity of the institute the scientists of the Institute devoted to the study of oil and gas in Azerbaijan, the development of scientific bases for the efficient processing of high quality aviation and rocket fuels, oils, new technologies and catalysts for oil chemistry and oil refining processes and other fundamental researches has been submitted.

At present, the Institute of Petrochemical Processes is taking important measures in the field of preparation of highly qualified specialists in the field of chemistry. Hundreds of books, monographs, and thousands of scientific articles have been published in the Institute. Scientists of the institute are engaged in pedagogical activity in many higher educational institutions of the republic, actively participate in the intellectual development of the younger generation.

At the next meeting of the Presidium of ANAS held on October 24, it decided to take into account the multifaceted activities of this influential scientific-research center and its contribution to the Azerbaijani science. The resolution envisages the holding of the 90th anniversary of the institute at the state level, the organization of an international conference on the jubilee, as well as publishing the book reflecting the history and activity of the institute.

Control over execution of the decision was entrusted to vice-president of ANAS, academician Dilgam Tagiyev.
