The textbook “Basic research methods of military history science” was published by Professor of the Military Academy of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, Doctor of History Nurulla Aliyev in collaboration with the leading researcher of ANAS Institute of History after Abbasgulu Agha Bakikhanov, Associate Professor Narmina Amirbayova.

In the textbook, issued by the Military Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan consisting of 7 chapters, a significant place is devoted to issues of the process of the formation of historical science, the study of methods and principles of scientific research.

It is designed to provide fundamental and systematic knowledge, to stimulate the active work of graduate students and adjuncts in the field of military history research. The publication highlights the issues of improving techniques, in which military history research is carried out and its practical application during classes, special research methods are disclosed that can be used by researchers in the field of studying social phenomena in various specialties (sociology, psychology, philology).

The publication consists of 2 parts. The 1st part is “Principles of Historical Science. The methodology of military history science "consists of three chapters, which are devoted to the themes "History as a science. Principles of studying the historical process", "The concept of a scientific approach" and "The main aspects of the methodology and methods of military history research".

The 2nd part is entitled “General Scientific Methods in Military Historical Research. The method of writing scientific books” consists of 4 chapters and is devoted to the themes “Universal Methods of Knowledge”, “Empirical Scientific Methods”, “Theoretical Scientific Methods” and “Methods of Writing Scientific Works”.
