Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Director of the Institute of History of ANAS, academician Yagub Mahmudov, scientific secretary, PhD in history Irada Aliyeva, department heads - Prof. Tofig Mustafazadeh and doctor of history Irada Bagirova were on trip in Poland.

A signing ceremony was held on the establishment of the Azerbaijani Studies Center at Warsaw University in Poland. The agreement was signed by Rector of Warsaw University Marcin Pałys, Hasan Hasanov, the Azerbaijani ambassador to Poland and academician Yagub Mahmudov. The Head of the Center was appointed Nargiz Akhundova, Head of International Relations Department of the Institute, PhD in History.

Hasan Hasanov, Deputy Director of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aliya Aghazade, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Warsaw University Piotr Taracha and Agata Bareja, Head of Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Turkic Studies and Inner Asian Peoples thanked the Institute for History.

The presentation of the book "The Armenian Question in History" by Professor Tofig Mustafazade was held at Warsaw University's School of Political Sciences and International Relations.

During the visit, Azerbaijani scientists met with the leadership of the Faculty of History of Poznan University and professors of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. An agreement was reached to sign a bilateral cooperation agreement.

Hasan Hasanov awarded the staff of the Institute of History with medals decorated with pictures of Igna Paderevski and Alimardan bey Topchubashov.
