As it is known, from April 8, an international seminar on "Horizons of cooperation between the United Nuclear Research Institute (UNRI) and Azerbaijan in the field of nuclear physics, elementary particle physics and particle detectors" is being held in Baku.

The next section of the seminar, which was co-organized by ANAS, UNRI (Russia) and Baku State University (BSU), took place at the Institute of Information Technology on April 10.

Academician-secretary of the Department of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of ANAS, director of the Institute of Physics, academician Nazim Mammadov spoke about the importance of the seminar and its contributions to the science. He noted that the international event will play an important role in the development of relations between the two countries in the field of science.

Then academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technology, academician Rasim Alguliev spoke about scientific researches carried out in Big Data analytics, cloud computing and other directions in his scientific institution.

Referring to the work done to integrate into the science and education infrastructure of Europe, he said that AzScienceNet's science-computer network is a member of GEANT, a European science and education network and a national operator.

Speaking about the importance of the workshop on "Data Science", the director of the institute emphasized the importance of holding such seminars in terms of discussing existing problems.

Deputy Director of UNRI, Professor Mikhail Itkis gave information about the main directions of theoretical and experimental studies of BNTI, the international research center for nuclear science.

Later, Vladimir Korenkov, Director of the Information Technology Laboratory of UNRI made a report on “Distributed calculations and development directions of Big Data analytics. International Data Science "IT School". Speaking about recent innovations in the field of information technology, the reporter said that significant achievements in the field of grid, cloud, supercomputer and Big Data technologies have been achieved.

A wide exchange of views on the report has been made and many questions have been answered.
