Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Professor Alessia Maggi, Deputy Director of the School of Earth Sciences and Observatory of Strasbourg University of France, visited the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS (RSSC).

The guest met with the director of the RSSC, correspondent member of ANAS Gurban Yetirishli, and noted that the seismological research in Azerbaijan is of interest to them.

French students studying in the French-Azerbaijan University of Earth Sciences are interested in the practice at the Republican Seismic Survey Center, Alessia Maggi said.

Noting that they were acquainted with the work done at the Center's Seismic Monitoring Network before the meeting, the guest also noted that they intend to organize RSSC scientists’ lectures at the Azerbaijan- French University.

G.Yetirmishli also noted geophysical, geodynamic and geochemical studies carried out along with seismic studies in the Republic, and the results obtained in all areas were processed with the most up-to-date programs. The Director noted that the students of the Azerbaijan- French University can practice at RSSC.

During the meeting, the French guest also got acquainted with the presentation of the work done in the RSSC.

Then, the sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
