Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Nakhchivan Division presented the book "Specially Protected Natural Areas of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic".

The event was opened by the chairman of ANAS Nakhchivan Division, academician Ismayil Hajiyev and spoke about the activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the field of ecology protection in our country.

He noted that, by the initiative of the national leader in 1969, the first specially protected natural area in the Autonomous Republic, Ordubad State Nature Reserve was established.

In addition, the national leader signed an Order on the establishment of the Shahbuz State Nature Reserve and the Ordubad National Park of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 16, 2003.

The head of the Division also emphasized that, President Ilham Aliyev adopted laws and decisions for environmental protection and its rational use.

At the presentation, academician Tariyel Talibov, Professor Aliyar Ibrahimov and PhD in Agrarian Sciences, Associate Professor Sahib Hajiyev delivered papers. It was noted that, the role of nature protection and restoration of biodiversity, the conservation of uniqueness of natural environment, the species of rare and endangered species is quite significant.

Speakers spoke on the geographical position, nature, flora and fauna of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, specially protected natural areas and spoke on purposeful measures to protect them in recent years.
