The presentation of the book “The Azerbaijan national policy in the early twentieth century (on the example of the Jewish community)” authored by the leading researcher of ANAS Institute of Law and Human Rights Moisey Becker was held.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the Institute of Law and Human Rights, Professor Lala Ahmadova spoke about the scientific value of the book presented to the public.
She noted that, publications based on historical documents of the National Archival Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan and periodicals were devoted to the participation of representatives of the Jewish ethnic group in the political, economic and social life of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
At the same time, the role of the educational, linguistic and religious policies of the Azerbaijani state was demonstrated in the process of creating a new cultural and historical community.
Further, chief adviser of the Department of Socio-Political Affairs of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Mehseti Aliyeva, stressed that national leader Heydar Aliyev always attached great importance to the preservation and development of our national values, noting that the ideas of the great leader are being implemented today by President Ilham Aliyev.
She noted that, the state policy in Azerbaijan expanded tolerance in the country and strengthened the historical ties of friendship between peoples and religions. The fact that, tolerance in Azerbaijan is fully respected has been repeatedly reflected in the report of various international organizations.
Lead Advisor of the Department for Interethnic Relations, Multiculturalism and Religion of the Presidential Administration of the Azerbaijan Republic Anar Alizadeh, emphasized that the new edition reflects the historical tolerance of our people in all periods.
Representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Javid Mammadzade, senior adviser of the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism, Tofig Abbasov and others spoke and shared their views on the book and stressed that, this is a valuable publication for our history.
In conclusion, the author of the book, Moisey Becker thanked the organizers and participants of the event.
