The next meeting of Presidium of Nakhchivan Division of ANAS was held. The event was opened by the chairman of the department, acad. Ismayil Hajiyev. He informed the participants of the meeting about the approval of the "Regulations on the procedure for granting scientific degrees" and the "Regulations on conferring scientific titles" by President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, head of the Department of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature Elkhan Mamadov delivered a scientific paper on “Love on the example of Ertogrul Javid in folk art”.

The researcher mentioned the order signed by the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of April 18, 2019 “On the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Ertogrul Javid”. He noted that, the document is a vivid example of the respect and care shown for the work of E. Javid.

He noted that, the heir to the family of Huseyn Javid, Ertogrul Javid left his mark in the scientific, literary and cultural environment of Azerbaijan. He collected more than 200 unforgettable examples of songs of the people, folklore, folk music and dance, translated them to a note and gave them a second life.

He also brought to the attention that in 10 volumes of the book “Intangible Monuments of Culture of Azerbaijan and Ertogrul Javid”, created on the initiative of the Director of Huseyn Javid’s House Museum, Doctor of Philology Babakhanlı Gulbeniz, reflected the examples of folklore collected by E.Javid in different regions country. It was noted that, the three-volume book “The Anthology of the Folklore of Nakhchivan” included samples of folklore collected by Ertogrul Javid.

Further, academic secretary of Division Rashad Zulfugarov informed about the results of receiving documents for the competition in research departments and laboratories. Head of the Scientific and Organizational Department, Ph.D. in Agrarian Sciences Orhan Bagirov delivered a report on the results of research projects carried out in the scientific institutions of the Division in the first half of 2019.

Further, Director of the Institute of Biological Resources, academician Tariel Talibov said that, there are about 800 herbal medicines in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and 30 of them are considered official medicinal herbs.

He said that, the institute's staff were on expeditions in the territory of the autonomous republic and determined the areas of distribution of these medicinal plants, found biologically active substances contained in such plants. As a result of research conducted in this direction, the book “Medicinal Plants of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” was published.
