Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Presentation of the book “Azerbaijani mathematicians” by Director of ANAS Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, corresponding member of ANAS Misir Mardanov was held.

Speaking at the event, M.Mardanov noted that, the book provides bibliographic information on scientists have played an important role in the development of mathematical science in Azerbaijan. The book gives information about 12 academicians, 14 corr. members of ANAS, 177 Doctors of Sciences, Professors.

According to the scientist, the book, in chronological order interprets on the great Azerbaijani scientist and encyclopedist of the Middle Ages Nasiraddin Tusi, who made an invaluable contribution to the world treasury of science, on the stages of the formation of the pre-scientific environment, historical facts illustrating the main problems under study, Tusi’s predecessors and some of his successors.

The scientific editor of the book is rector of “Khazar” University, doctor of physical-mathematical sciences, prof. Hamlet Isakhanli.
