The General Meeting of the Department of Humanitarian Sciences of ANAS was held.
Vice-president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbayli noted that, within the framework of the Order of AR President Ilham Aliyev on declare 2019 "Year of Nasimi" in Azerbaijan by the Division held a series of events in the scientific institutions, including conferences, seminars, and scientific sessions. The mass media also promoted the work by Imadeddin Nasimi. Academician also spoke on undertaken and planned work within the framework of the 110th anniversary of the outstanding Azerbaijani scientists Mammadaga Shiraliyev and Mammadjafar Jafarov in accordance with the relevant Executive Orders.
Speaking on the election to the post of Directors of the Institute of Literature, the Institute of Manuscripts, the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature and the the Huseyn Javid’s House Museum academician added that, the candidates are scientists who are distinguished by advanced scientific research and achievements. He noted that, the candidacy for the post for Director of research institutions is put forward by secret ballot to the Scientific Council.
He said that, was created a commission to consider the documents submitted to the Division and today's meeting of the Division of Humanitarian Sciences will be held by secret ballot and will be approved by a decision of ANAS Presidium. Academician Naghisoylu Mohsun was elected as Chairman of the General Meeting and academician Mukhtar Imanov was elected as Chairman of the Commission of Experts.
As a result of a secret ballot, academician Isa Habibbayli was elected as Director of the Institute of Literature, academician Teymur Karimli was elected as Director of the Institute of Manuscripts, academician Rafael Huseynov as Director of the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature and Doctor of Philology Gulbyaniz Babakhanli as Director of the Huseyn Javid’s House Museum
14 out of 20 members of the division took part in the vote.
