Azerbaijan and Russian scientists discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of archeology

Employees of Chelyabinsk State University and the Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) delivered paper at ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography.

During the event, Professor of the Department of History of Russia and Foreign States of Chelyabinsk State University, archaeologist Gennadiy Zdanovich delivered a paper on "Arkaim: cultural and natural region in the Southern Urals". The report touches upon the history of research and the results of the Arkaim monument, cultural and economic life and architecture of the ancient settlement, reconstruction and other scientific aspects of the monument.

The report on "Archeozoological research in the Urals" by chief researcher at the Institute of Plant and Animal Ecology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, paleozoologist Pavel Kosintsev having outlined a number of the issues, concerning to scientific results in the field of ancient flora and fauna of the region, the ancient population.

Anna Plaksina, lecturer at the Faculty of Ecology at Chelyabinsk State University delivered a paper on the ancient and modern landscape of the region, studied on the basis of modern technological achievements.

The report has been well received. Russian scientists respondent the questions of the participants. The prospects of joint cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russian scientists in the field of archeology and archeometry were discussed. At the end of the event, the guests donated books on the study of Arkaim ancient settlement to their Azerbaijani colleagues.
