Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan History has published the book “The Banner of the Karabakh Khan Mehtigulu Khan”.

The book contains information on the banner donated by Emperor Alexander I in 1806 to the Karabakh Khan Mehtigulu Khan, which is kept in the Arms and Flags Fundation.

The historical context in which the flag is presented based on sources and literature is explained. This flag, symbolized as a symbol of power, is real evidence of recognition by the Russian emperors of the Azerbaijani Khans of the Javanshir dynasty.

The author of the book, published in Azerbaijan and Russian, is the head of the Museum Department, Ph.D in History, associate professor Sabuhi Ahmadov and the scientific editor is Director of the Museum, academician Naila Velikhanli.
