Presentation of the book “Jalil Mammadguluzadeh 150 years - articles, essays, interviews, poems” was held at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS.
Speaking at the event, vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli stressed out that, a chain of events as a part of President Ilham Aliyev’s order "On the celebration of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh’s 150th anniversary" were carried out in the country.
Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, who has gained fame as a great democratic writer and public figure in Azerbaijani literature, is a teacher of the famous Transcaucasia (Gori) Teachers Seminary, who began to revive after the second half of the 19th century. He is a prominent creator of critical-realistic satirical literature in Azerbaijan. The prominent writer has gained fame in Azerbaijan literature as the founder of the literary trend of realism, the founder of the literary school "Molla Nasraddin" and one of the main figures of the national independence movement, said I. Habibbeyli.
Later, doctoral student of the Institute of Literature, an author of the book Elkhan Najafov stated that, this new edition embraces articles, essays and poems occurring after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh's 100th anniversary. According to him, the book contains 78 articles from 52 authors. The editor-in-chief is academician Isa Habibbeyli, scientific editor is prof. Asif Rustamli, responsible editor is Dr. Philology Elchin Ibrahimov, reviewers – corresponding member of ANAS Tehran Mustafayev and associate professor Shamil Sadig.
People's writer Anar, academician Mukhtar Imanov, corresponding member of ANAS Tehran Mustafayev, professor Jahangir Mammadli and others shared their opinions about the book "Jalil Mammadguluzadeh 150 years - articles, essays, interviews, poems".
