Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Baku Slavic University held the presentation of book “Mammad Jafarov: literature theorist”, prepared by the Department of Literary Theory of ANAS Institute of Literature.

The event was attended by employees of the Institute of Literature, teachers and students of BSU's Azerbaijan Philology and Journalism faculty, as well as the Department of Azerbaijani Literature.

First, dean of the Faculty of Azerbaijani Philology and Journalism, Professor Eldar Piriyev noted that, the book was published in accordance with the Order of AR President dated April 15, 2019 devoted to the 110th anniversary of academician Mammad Jafarov.

Afterwards, head of the Department of Literature Theory at the Institute of Literature, and lecturer at BSU Azerbaijan Literature Department, Professor Tahira Mammad spoke on the rich creativity of the scientist, whose life is devoted to the study of the actual problems of Azerbaijani literary criticism.

She said that, the monograph, based on research conducted in Department, investigated the theoretical parameters of the academic Mammad Jafar Jafarov, scientific concepts and their significance for modern scientific thought.

Then, T.Mammadli delivereed a paper on "The problem of classical heritage, romance and linguopoietics in the works by Mammad Jafar Jafarov".

At the ceremony, employees of the Department of Literary Theory – Dr. in Philology Parvana Isayeva, Dr. in Philosophy Simuzar Ismayilova, Maral Yagubova, Scientific Worker Shafa Aliyeva shared their thoughts on book "Mammad Jafar Jafarov: literature theorist" and Mammad Jafar's creativity.

At the event, also was reported on examples of artistic creativity and publications by Mammad Jafar Jafarov, which was discovered by the initiative of the literary scholar, academician Isa Habibbayli.

At the end, employees of the Institute of Literature donated to the dean's office of the faculty of Azerbaijani philology and journalism at Baku Slavic University, Department of Azerbaijani Literature and University Library a monograph "Mammad Jafar Jafarov: literature theorist".
