Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Mikhail Akimov, director of the Federal Scientific Center of Michurin of the Tambov region of Russia and Alexei Shabalkin, director of Tambov Research Institute of Agriculture, met with the director of the Institute of Dendrology, corresponding member of ANAS Tofig Mammadov.

The meeting discussed the selection of apples grown in Azerbaijan and the selection of high-quality varieties, their introduction and acclimatization in the northern region. Signing of an agreement has been obtained to conclude a joint research project on the introduction and acclimatization of important plants.

Later, the guests got acquainted with the laboratories of the Institute of Dendrology, equipped with modern equipment, research work done here, and tropical and subtropical plants grown in newly established oranges.

Finally, Russian guests were submitted the 5th volume of the "Azerbaijani dendroflora", "Rare and endangered trees and shrubs of Azerbaijan".
