On December 11, in the main building of ANAS, Council of Young Scientists and Specialists held a commemorative event on the 16th anniversary of the death of the architect and founder of modern Azerbaijan, national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Speaking at the event, "Great Leader Heydar Aliyev: architect of our past, guarantor of our future", chairman of the Council, PhD Associate Professor Famin Salmanov spoke about the importance of Heydar Aliyev period of Azerbaijan history in the life of the country.
The chairman of the council emphasized that the great leader Heydar Aliyev always focused on development of science and education in our country. The existence of ANAS today is connected with the name of Heydar Aliyev. It is the result of the national leader's efforts to give the Academy its national status at a time of great difficulty for our country, to raise scholars' wages and improve working conditions.
Salmanov said that the great leader had taken consistent steps towards the formation of the intellectual generation and that Azerbaijani youth were sent to study in many countries around the world. He noted that the first independent Azerbaijan Youth Forum was held in 1996 on the initiative of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and Youth Day was established in the country.
Later, chairman of the NAP organization of the Institute of Literature, PhD in Philology Khadija Isgandarli noted that great person Heydar Aliyev approaches all issues from the principles of statehood and always sees the future of Azerbaijan and NAP on the youth.
Chairman of the Yasamal NAP Youth Union Ilgar Guliyev on topic “Protector of Azerbaijani Science and Education”, senior researcher of the Heydar Aliyev Political Heritage and Azerbaijanism Department of the Institute of Philosophy, PhD Gunel Melikli on "The Role of Heydar Aliyev in establishing independent Azerbaijan statehood", scientific secretary of the Institute of Manuscripts, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Azizagha Najafov on “Heydar Aliyev and the New Renaissance of Azerbaijani Culture” and others delivered lectures at the conference.
