Ministry of Culture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has donated 12 manuscripts and printed books to the Manuscript Fund of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS.

Opening the event, academician Ismayil Hajiyev said that manuscripts and ancient printed books collected from the territory of the Autonomous Republic are important for studying our history and culture, and spoke about measures taken in this direction.

This year Ministry of Culture donated generally 55 titles of manuscripts and books to the division, Ismayil Hajiyev noted.

Then, head of the apparatus of the Ministry of Culture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Piri Naghiyev, having informed about the donated books, said that the publications were transferred to the Ministry by the Honored Worker of Culture Akif Hajiyev. He said that similar activities between the Nakhchivan Division and the ministry will continue in the future.

Speaking further, director of the Manuscript Fund Doctor of Philological sciences Farman Khalilov introduced new manuscripts and printed books to the participants. He said that among the donated publications there is a manuscript “Risale” dedicated to religious subjects in Arabic and Persian, four copies of the “Holy Quran”, “Majlisi” by Muhammadbaghir Ibn Muhammadtaghi, “Gulzari-Hagigat” by Sheikh Molla Abulgasim Ganji Akhundzadeh and “Jameyi-Abbasi” by Bahadaddin Muhammad Amili, as well as a collection of various historical and religious stories and other books.

At the end of the meeting, Akif Hajiyev noted the importance of collecting, studying and disseminating material, cultural and rare documentary materials of historical significance.
