Institute of Oriental Studies conducts research in connection with Japan

On February 21, a meeting was held at the Institute of Oriental Studies of ANAS, with the Attaché for Culture and Education of the Japanese Embassy in Azerbaijan, Daiki Ishikawa.

The meeting was attended by the director of the Institute of Oriental Studies academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva and employees of the Department of Countries of the Asia-Pacific region of the institute.

G. Bakhshaliyeva informed the Japanese diplomat about the history and directions of scientific research of the institution. She expressed interest in the Institute of Oriental Studies in cooperation with Japanese scientific and educational institutions. The scientist said that several years ago, the department of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region was created at the institute, where a specialist from Japan also worked.

Then, PhD in Philology, Zenfira Shikhalibayli noted that the department of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region led by her, had carried out important studies in connection with regional countries, including Japan.

During the event, the department employees - PhD in Geography Rafig Abbasov and Afag Narimanova talked about their research.

Daiki Ishikawa expressed satisfaction with the research carried out at the Institute of Oriental Studies in connection with Japan, and announced the readiness of the Japanese Embassy to support this area.
