Center for Agrarian Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a meeting with Vagif Abbasov, a director of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes of ANAS academician.

Director of the Center, PhD in Agrarian Sciences Imran Jumshudov spoke about done fulfillments on the organization of pesticide and organic fertilizers, and the delivery of results to farmers under memorandum of cooperation signed between the Ministry and ANAS.

Afterwards, academician Vagif Abbasov shared his views on the current state and prospects of cooperation. He provided information about the three nutritional fertilizers of the “Azofos-K”, manufactured joint with “INKOR” LLC, a resident of the High Technologies Park. He informed that the fertilizer was used in 28 ha of vineyards in Shamakhi and 290 hectares of pomegranate gardens in Agsu district.

The vineyards were given 214 kilograms of fertilizer per hectare, resulting in over 252 tonnes of produce. Pomegranate gardens were given 110 kilograms of “Azofos-K” fertilizer per hectare and 15 tons of harvest were collected from each hectare.

According to Vagif Abbasov, this fertilizer is effective, not containing harmful components, including nitrate nitrogen. He stressed the need for awareness-raising activities related to the use of Azofos-K fertilizer in crops.
