Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

First volume of “Baku folklore samples” book was published by the Institute of Folklore.

The main sources of the first volume collected from Baku and folklore and ethnographic materials kept at the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS named after M.Fuzuli. Materials reflected in the book are well-known actor Huseyn Sarabsky’s collection. Ertugrul Javid’s collected folk music materials from Baku, samples of the folk in “School”, “Dabistan”, “Lider”, “Tuti”, “The way of learning Azerbaijan” also reflected in this volume.

The book also contains meykhana books published in old alphabet. Part of the materials taken and protected in the archives of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography are ethnic.

The project is director of Folklore Institute, corresponding member of ANAS Mukhtar Kazimoglu, designers Rza Khalilov and Afag Ramazanova.
