Adam Mickiewicz, a well-known Polish poet and public figure, founder of romanticism in Polish literature, was not only one of the most famous figures in his country, but also enriched Polish literature with oriental motifs with his immortal works. Thanks to his work in European literature in a broad sense, new horizons were opened for the East. Adam Mickiewicz, whose works are translated into world languages, is also known in Azerbaijan. The works of the famous Polish poet were repeatedly translated into the Azerbaijani language, and articles were written about him. However, the topic “Adam Mickiewicz and Azerbaijan” has not been systematically studied.

Recently, a monographic study entitled “Adam Mickiewicz and Azerbaijan”, one of the main researchers and propagandists of Polish literature in Azerbaijan, the head of the Education Department of the Institute of Literature of ANAS after Nizami Ganjavi Samir Sattarov, was published. The editor of the work is the first vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature academician Isa Habibbayli, and the reviewer is the senior researcher of the institute, professor Gular Abdullabeyova.

The facts about the life and work of the famous poet Adam Mickiewicz in the publication are first investigated in Azerbaijani literary criticism. These studies can be considered a new stage in the study of Azerbaijani-Polish literary and cultural relations.

The monograph is important as the first generalized scientific work written on this topic. The publication also provides a broad scientific picture of friendship and solidarity of the Azerbaijani and Polish peoples.
