October 17, 2014 main building of ANAS hosted for 110th anniversary of Honoured Scientist, Distinguished Engineer, State Prize winner academician Mamadpasha Guluzadeh by organization of the Department of Earth Sciences.

Opening the event President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh told the glorious path of life, teaching activities of world-renowned scientist, stressed out vital contribution by him in the formation and development of the oil industry in Azerbaijan.

In-depth knowledge, long-term production practice allowed him to successfully solve complex theoretical and technological problems of drilling. An outstanding scholar, an intellectual and oilman Mammadpasha Guluzadeh created his own school, its direction in the Azerbaijani science.

ANAS President noted that the research activities of academician M.Guluzadeh made a great contribution to the development of petroleum science and technology, in particular, the theory and practice of techniques used in drilling oil and gas wells.

Then Professor Ali Nazim Mammadtaghizadeh spoke on “World-renowned oil scientist Mammadpasha Guluzadeh.” He noted that M.Guluzadeh entered the Industrial College of the name of Nariman Narimanov in 1927. In 1932 he joined the faculty of the Azerbaijan oil field industrial Institute (now the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy) in 1938, graduating with honors received a degree in mining engineering drilling.

In 1946, he joined the full-time students graduate Institute, defended the candidate's and doctoral theses. In 1951-1964, he worked as an assistant, associate professor, professor and chair of drilling oil and gas wells, the vice-rector of the institute, successfully continued research and teaching activities.

A. Mammadtaghizadeh said that acad. M.Guluzadeh is the author of 400 scientific works, including 15 monographs, 15 inventions and inventions, as well as the first fundamental manuals and teaching aids in the Azerbaijani language. He was a scientific advisor of 10 doctors and 45 candidates prepared in technical sciences.

Academician Ismayil Ibrahimov, corresponding member of ANAS Gabil Efendiyev, Elmira Ramazanov, Ramiz Gurbanov, PhD in technical sciences Salahaddin Ayyubov and others shared memories about the scientist. Then, speaking on behalf of the family of the scientist, his son Piri Guluzadeh thanked for the attention and respect the memory of his father.
