In accordance with the instructions and orders of the President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, the staff of the Institute of Oriental Studies, along with all the scientific institutions of the academy, also continue their research, taking into account the conditions arising from the coronavirus pandemic.

The institute director, academician Govkhar Bakhshaliyeva communicates with employees through social networks, is interested in the work done. Scientists of the enterprise submit the results of their research in reputable scientific journals and various scientific collections. Among these collections, an important place is occupied by the scientific and theoretical journal “Oriental Studies”, which is a scientific publication of the Institute of Oriental Studies.

The head of the Department of Publishing and Scientific and Information Support, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Ruhangiz Jumshudlu, while managing the department remotely, also continues to work fruitfully on the research work “Poetry of Azerbaijan in Arabic in the XIV-XVII centuries”, and works on the translation of a number of samples poetry in the Azerbaijani language. She also completed the translation of the poetic works of the great Azerbaijani poet Muhammad Fuzuli in Arabic and prepared a collection with an extensive introduction, comments and notes for publication.

Responsible employee of the Institute of Public Relations, PhD in Philology Vugar Mammadov conducts research on the topic “Explanatory Dictionary of Linguistic Terms in Persian”, prepares for publication “Persian-Azerbaijani-Russian-English Dictionary of Linguistic Terms”, and also works on a paper "The principles of compiling a terminological dictionary in four languages." At the same time, he continues his activities in the field of public relations, as well as being the executive secretary of the popular science magazine of the Institute of Azerbaijan Oriental Studies, he gets acquainted with the articles submitted for publication and prepares materials for the journal.
