Nakhchivan Division carried out an online open lesson for students

Scientists and specialists of the institutes of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS regularly hold online open classes for students who are mentored during the pandemic.

The next open lesson was organized at the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology for the Department for the second-year students of the History and Philology Faculty of Nakhchivan State University majoring in "History" through the "Zoom" program.

Togrul Khalilov, head of the Department of Ancient and Medieval Archeology of the Institute, PhD in History, Associate Professor, delivered a lecture on "Achievements in the study and protection of Nakhchivan monuments."

Speaking about the study of rich archeological monuments in Nakhchivan, one of the centers of ancient civilization, the head of the department said that Gazma, Kilid, Dashgala caves and Stone Age monuments in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic prove that Nakhchivan was one of the first human settlements.

Khalilov also informed the students about the results of archeological excavations in Ovchulartepe, Oglangala I and Kultapa II, Khalaj, Arabyengija, Duzdag, Shahtakhti, Gizilburun, Nahajir and other ancient settlements.

The rapporteur noted that in accordance with the Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic "On the organization of protection and certification of historical and cultural monuments in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" dated December 6, 2005, expeditions were organized to all regions of the autonomous republic. He was certified and published fundamental scientific works, books and monographs.
