Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

International journal "Oceanological Research" of the Institute of Oceanology named after P.P Shirshov of the Russian Academy of Sciences has published the paper by entitled “Modern changes in precipitation on the Caspian coast of Azerbaijan” by employees of the Institute of Geography.

The paper co-authored by the head of the Caspian Hydrometeorology Department of the Institute of Geography Dr. Said Safarov,  a researcher of the Caspian Level Problem Department, Ph.D. Elnur Safarov, PhD students Jamal Huseynov and Naila Ismayilova examines the change in the regime of precipitation in the Azerbaijan part of the Caspian coast, as well as at the sea island stations of Chilov and Neft Dashlary. It has been shown that against the background of global and regional warming, an increase in precipitation is observed over most of the coast, and a decrease at marine stations.
