The works of Azerbaijani scientists nominated for the State Prize have been praised by the world's leading scientific institutions

The works co-authored by the scientists of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics (IGG) of ANAS were submitted to the State Prize of 2020 under the general title "Geology and minerals of the territory of Azerbaijan".

Works include “Geology of Azerbaijan” (3 volumes), “Geology of Azerbaijan” (8 volumes, in Russian), “Geoscience of Azerbaijan” (2 volumes, in English), “Fertile layer of Azerbaijan” (in Russian), “Atlas of mud volcanoes of the world ”(in Azerbaijani, English and Russian),“Atlas of Ore Deposits of Azerbaijan ”(in Azerbaijani and Russian) and “ Atlas of Azerbaijani Minerals ”(in Azerbaijani, English and Russian).

Co-authors of the publications are academicians Fakhraddin Gadirov, Parviz Mammadov, late academician Arif Ismayilzadeh, corresponding members of ANAS Dadash Huseynov, Talat Kangarli, Gurban Yetirmishli, professor Jabrayil Azadaliyev, Doctors of geological-mineralogical sciences Mukhtar Rustamov, Rahid Rahmanov and PhD in Geology-mineralogy Solmaz Velizadeh.

The works of the scientists of the institute nominated for the State Prize of the Republic of Azerbaijan have been widely discussed and supported in a number of scientific institutions of the world, taking into account their scientific significance. Extracts from the minutes of those discussions were sent to the IGG. Georgian National Academy of Sciences, French Institute of Sciences “de la terra de Paris”, a number of scientific institutions and universities in Tel Aviv, as well as the Institute of Geology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, German “ZENTRALBLATT” für Geologie und Palaontologie and other scientific centers praised the achievements of their colleagues.
