The scientific paper by the head of the Department of Public Relations of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS Parviz Gasimov was published in the 2nd issue of the current year of the international journal “Balkanistic forum” with an impact factor.
The paper entitled “Aesopian language” under the communist regime: a scientific paper by the Bulgarian scientist Nikola Mavrodinov ” talks about how in their scientific works and works of art the intelligentsia brought the truth about the shortcomings of the USSR to the public, as well as about the distant and near past in a veiled form.
At the beginning of the paper, it is told about Azerbaijani archaeologists who became victims of repression. The article indicates that in order to ensure that under the totalitarian regime the names of archaeologists are not erased from memory, their colleagues repeatedly wrote about them in their scientific works and even spoke in the form of artificial criticism about their research.
After the Bulgarian kingdom was occupied by the USSR at the end of World War II, against the backdrop of communist dictatorship and repression, the famous Bulgarian archaeologist, professor Nikola Mavrodinov published an article on the state of archaeological research in his homeland in the periodical scientific journal Soviet Archeology, in which he made clear understand that in fact, before the Soviet occupation, archeology in Bulgaria did not lag behind in development not only from the USSR, but also from the advanced countries of the West.
In his paper, Parviz Gasimov also talks about the protection of N. Mavrodinov of a number of artists and scientists who were persecuted in communist Bulgaria for their class identity and beliefs, their employment and provision of apartments.
The studies, the results of which were reflected in the article, were carried out as part of the project “Exchange of knowledge and academic cultures in the humanities, Europe and the Black Sea region”, funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission.
It should be noted that the Balkanistic forum journal is indexed in such authoritative scientific databases as Clarivate Analytics, Scopus, etc., and is also included in the online library system of Central and Eastern Europe (CEEOL).
