Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammed Fizuli of ANAS has published a monograph entitled “Allegory in Azerbaijani literature” (from metaphor to truth).

The author of the new publication is Lala Alizadeh, Associate Professor of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Doctor of Philology. The scientific consultant and author of the “Preface” is the director of the Institute of Manuscripts, academician Teymur Karimli. The scientific editor of the publication is Doctor of Philology Farida Azizova, and the editor is PhD in Philology Aynura Mahmudova. Reviewers of the book are academician Mohsun Naghisoylu, Doctors of philological sciences Mahir Guliyev, Pasha Karimov and PhD in philology, associate professor Azizaga Najafzadeh.

The monograph examines the role of allegory and the ways of its development in Azerbaijani literature of the XII-XVI centuries. A special place is given to the study of allegorical art in the works of Khagani Shirvani, Nizami Ganjavi and Muhammad Fizuli. The book presents separate sections in which the position of allegory in the direction of irfan-philosophy-art, the Sufi worldview and Hurufi poetry is analyzed.
