Nakhchivan Division of ANAS hosted an online scientific conference dedicated to the 150th anniversary of prominent Azerbaijani writer, socio-political figure Nariman Narimanov.

Opening the conference, chairman of the division academician Ismayil Hajiyev said that the event was held in accordance with the Order of President Ilham Aliyev "On the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Nariman Narimanov" dated February 14, 2020. Speaking about the life and creative activity of the writer, he said that Nariman Narimanov, one of the prominent personalities of his time, always upheld the national interests of Azerbaijan.

Ismayil Hajiyev noted that thanks to the attention and care of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the 100th and 125th anniversaries of Nariman Narimanov were celebrated, a monument to the writer was erected in Baku, a house-museum was established at the initiative of the great leader. In accordance of the particular order of the state head, vital measures have been taken in the direction of promoting social- political activity of Nariman Narimanov, he added.

A leading researcher of the “New and Recent History Department” of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology Musa Guliyev delivered a lecture on "Outstanding socio-political and state figure Nariman Narimanov", director of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, corresponding member of ANAS Abulfaz Guliyev on topic “Nariman Narimanov and language issues” and other lectures have been listened at the event.
