Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Institute of the History of Science has organized an online scientific conference dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature, the great playwright, prose writer, publicist and theater organizer, the famous public figure Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev.

The event was opened by the Director of the Institute, Doctor of Historical Sciences Maryam Seyidbeyli, who spoke about the life and work of an outstanding writer. She said that Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev was a worthy successor to the literary traditions of his famous predecessors and a multifaceted enlightened intellectual with a modern worldview and wide erudition. Noting that A. Hagverdiyev took an active part in the public life of Azerbaijan and worked tirelessly in the field of socio-cultural construction, the director of the institute emphasized that the inclusion of his name in

the list of anniversaries of outstanding personalities and significant events of UNESCO for 2020-2021 is a manifestation of a high appreciation of creativity a writer.

Then the lectures were presented: “Diplomatic activity of A. Hagverdiyev during the Azerbaijan People Republic”, “Monograph on the life and work of A. Hagverdiev”, “Socio-philosophical views of A. Hagverdiev”, “Unknown aspects of the life of A. Hagverdiyev”, “Drama of Hagverdiyev ","A general review of the materials on the history of Azerbaijan in the works of A.Hagverdiyev", “Modernity of A.Hagverdiev's prose ","Memoirs of A.Hagverdiev about the journal "Molla Nasraddin".
