Institute of History of ANAS is the main center of world celebrity studies. The scientific institution thoroughly studies all the basic issues of the history of the Safavid Empire of Azerbaijan. According to the institute’s research plan, the other day published a book by Tofig Najafli, doctor of historical sciences, “Foreign Policy of the Azerbaijani State of Safavids (in the historiography of Turkey).”

The scientific editor of the book is the director of the institute, academician Yagub Mahmudov.

The monograph is devoted to studying the state of the study of the foreign policy of the Safavid state of Azerbaijan in the historiography of Turkey.

The author in his work examined the state of the study in the historiography of Turkey of the political relations between the Safavid and Ottoman states in the 16th century - the beginning of the 18th century, the history of relations between the Safavids and the Mamluk state, the Sheybanids, Turkestan khanates, the Mughal Empire, the Grand Duchy of Moscow, the Georgian principalities and European countries using sources of that period. The publication contains rich factual materials on the history of the foreign policy of the Safavid state of Azerbaijan.

The monograph, published by the decision of the scientific council of the Institute of History, is intended for historians, students studying the history of foreign policy of the Azerbaijani state of Safavids, as well as for a wide range of readers.
