Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory joins GRANDMA international network of telescopes

Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory after N. Tusi of ANAS carries out important work to attract young researchers to the urgent problems of science, as well as to expand the international cooperation of the observatory and its integration into world science.

Thus, Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory with the participation of 4 young doctoral students and master’s graduates led by the head of the Department of Galaxies and Star Formation Processes at the observatory, Professor Nariman Ismayilov, joined the Global Rapid Advanced Network Devoted to the Multi-messenger Addicts (GRANDMA). GRANDMA, an international consortium of 25 telescopes from 16 different countries, conducts spectral and photometric observations (https://grandma.lal.in2p3.fr/research/grandma-project/).

The purpose of observations is to record the transient events that occur in the universe due to gravitational waves, and to observe the residual events that occurred in the optical range. The observation of such unique physical phenomena is of great importance in modern physics and astrophysics for understanding the physics of gravitational waves.
